Sports Day

We had a great time on Sports Day, taking part in different races, events, and team activities.

Akhand Paath

Children at Falcons had a wonderful time visiting the Gurdwara Sahib for the Akhand Paath. It was a special occasion that brought together families and the wider community. Falcons pupils took part in a range of activities, including planting an apple tree, completing a photo trail, and making a falcon.

The School Fete

The community had a lovely time at the fete, organised by our fantastic PTA. The Talent Show was a joy to watch, and there was plenty of delicious food and fun activities for everyone to enjoy.

Trip to Hunstanton Beach

Year Two had a fantastic time visiting Hunstanton as part of their 'Coasts' topic. They took part in a range of activities, including a visit to the Hunstanton Lifeboat Station, where they learned about the incredible life-saving work carried out there.

Trip to Bradgate Park 

Year Four had a wonderful time learning more about nature at Bradgate Park.

Trip to The Transport Museum

Year One had a wonderful day at The Transport Museum where they learnt more about the history of transport across Leicester.

Trip to The Botanical Gardens

Year 3 loved visiting the Botanical Gardens where they learnt more about their topic Rainforests.

Trip to Stonehurst Farm

Reception Class used map reading skills to find their way around Stonehurst Farm!

Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Gurpurab

We  all had a fantastic day celebrating Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Gurpurab. It was lovely to see all the children dressed in their traditional wear.

Digital Leaders

As part of our ongoing work on online safety the Digital Leaders planned, rehearsed and delivered an assembly about Online Safety. They did a wonderful job.

  Games!

The children have loved learning how to play a variety of board games. It has been great for their speaking and listening skills and their ability to collaborate. We ae grateful to our PTA who have raised money to buy these games.

Visit from the Fire and Rescue Service

The children in Year 2 had an exciting visit from the Fire and Rescue Service in Leicester.

Mini Doctors

The children learnt lots in this club with Dr Bals. For example, how to listen to their heart beat, what a blood capillary is and how germs can be spread so quickly. The activities were practical and this meant that the children were very engaged, involved and excited about their learning. They learnt about what to do in an emergency and about the importance of Mental Health.

 Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan

School pupils, staff and the school community had an amazing time at the procession.

 Year 2 trip to the synagogue

Year 2 had a great time at the synagogue In Leicester and learnt lots. They looked at different artefacts and learned lots about the history of Judaism. They were so well behaved and asked some super questions.

Panjabi Classes

Panjabi classes take place after school led by staff Mrs Ram and Mrs Khalsa, currently we have 62 children attending. The children are grouped according to ability and we award certificates as they meet the requirements of each Level (Falcons Primary School Panjabi Curriculum Map). Children learn about introducing themselves, saying a range of greetings, reading and writing Gurmukhi letters, counting , recognising maharani (symbols) and also reading and writing words and sentences in Panjabi.

Digital Leaders

Our amazing Digital Leaders have enjoyed coding with the new micro:bits. 

Digital Leaders

The Digital Accelerators have been working together to make a PowerPoint about E-Safety which they are going to show in assembly.  They have been busy interviewing children, making posters, looking at websites which are useful for E-Safety and much more! 

National Numeracy Day 

we have had great fun celebrating National Numeracy Day. We have been exploring how Maths is used in the real world and the children have made symmetrical shapes using nature, cooked, rapped and created pieces of artwork where shape and repeated pattern is involved. 

In Reception we have been celebrating maths through stories. Sassoon the patterned snake needed us to find his friends outside and make new patterned snake friends for him.

Visit to Stonehurst Farm and the Motor Museum

 Church Visit

'Year 1 had a great time visiting St Mary's Church. We enjoyed exploring, listening to stories from the Bible and learning about the Easter story through role play.

School In A Bag 

Year 3 worked extremely hard raising funds for the charity School In A Bag by holding a toast sale and "Guess how many pom poms are in the jar" competition. School In A Bag send packed schoolbags to disadvantaged children. We raised £691.46! 

3D Printing  

We have been learning how to use the 3D printer. We have loved exploring Tinkercad and looking at how to create 3D designs. We have made a variety of things including: bookmarks (with an animal theme), keyrings and our initials. 

Remembrance Day

To commemorate Remembrance Day, we decided to host an in-school art gallery. Each year group produced their own art work focussing on different skills ranging from drawing to textures. We then showcased the children’s artistic talents to the school!

 Celebrating Guru Nanaks Gurpurab 

During the day, children had lots of fun taking part in various activities to celebrate Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday including making cards, making simran malas, taking part in a Dastaar tying workshop and many other exciting activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 Nativity Assembly 

Children in Year 2 and Reception worked together to perform The Nativity to parents and the rest of the school. We were very proud of them. They did especially well learning the different songs.

 

 

 

Sports Day 

We were lucky to have such a sunny day and the children worked together in teams as well as competing in individual events. Well done to everyone!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Diwali Rangoli Patterns

The children used a range of different materials and worked collaboratively to produce some amaazing Diwali patterns.

 

Yellow Day

Children and staff dressed in yellow for Mental Health and Wellbeing Day. We did lots of activities to raise awareness and understanding.

 

Visit to the local mosque

Pupils recently visited a local Mosque to deepen their understanding of different faiths and places of worship. Pupils were really respectful and asked some super questions.

 

 

 

 

 

Visit to Gulliver's Land

The children had great fun during this end of year trip to Gulliver's Land.
