I was honoured to be appointed as Lord Mayor and High Bailiff of the City of Leicester during the year 2004/05 municipal year.
More recently, in 2011 I became Assistant City Mayor in the City Mayor’s Executive Team and in 2018 was appointed as Deputy City Mayor with specific responsibility for Culture, Leisure, Sport and Regulatory Services.
I am also proud to have been an active member of the Leicester Sikh community for the last 40 years, and am a married family man with three grown up children.
I became trustee of Falcon Primary School in 2018 and I am very keen to use my experience and knowledge gained in my many years of public and community service to see Falcon Primary become recognised widely as outstanding primary school. I am also committed to doing whatever I can to help the staff, parents and pupils of Falcon Primary work closely together to create an engaging, enriching and ultimately successful school.
